Ah, Jared's Java. Pleasant taste. Slight Monsterism.

Welcome to the home of my mind, where I brew my intellectual and spiritual joe. Sit back and let me pour you a cup or two. I promise not to cut you off, even after you get the caffeine jitters.

I Like This Guy

I believe that Andy Grove is a genius. You must read this interview with him. It is a shame that it doesn't get more press because it proposes some very real solutions for the current healthcare system. It's not that all of it is necessarily new, but that a very savvy, famous smart guy is giving wings to the ideas therein.

And now, it is time for Jared's poetry corner, where Jared recites poetry in a corner.

The Road Not Taken:
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same.

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

I've always loved that poem. It isn't necessarily about how difficult the road less traveled is, just different. I try to think of my life in that way. Apart from my strongly held convictions of faith, I walk a road less traveled. I am counter-cultural in morally neutral territory. I don't know, maybe definition of beauty isn't morally neutral, but I like music that is out of the norm or popular. My humor is of a different vein. I am a very different man in how I relate to my wife and my own emotions than most. I do things that most people don't. I have found my own way of being. I'd love to expound on this more, but it'd take too long...and today is a day off for me, so I will be a lazy blogger.

"And both that morning equally lay, in leaves no step had trodden black. And I, I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference."

That's cool Bro. Different is GOOD! So what kind of music do you listen to? I LOVE all kinds of music and I'm always looking for something fresh. Send me a list that I can look up and listen to OK?

Do you know how hard it is to analize a poem when someone is talking to you? Really, Really hard.

"And now it is time for Silly Songs with Larry, the part of the show where Larry sings a Silly Song."
